Growth Accelerator Entrepreneurship Challenge Kick’s off Round 2

The Growth Accelerator Entrepreneurship Challenge is open for round 2! On Monday July 1st, the Growth Accelerator Round 2 kick-off took place at MHub, where dozens of entrepreneurs and ecosystem stakeholders from all across the city attended to hear about the program, and ask pressing questions.

The Growth Accelerator programme is an initiative lead by MHub in partnership with GrowthAfrica and investment partners Accesserator, Kweza Equity Partners, National Bank of Malawi and EcoBank. With support from UNDP Malawi and The Royal Norwegian Embassy, the challenge is aimed at supporting emerging entrepreneurs with technical support, mentorship and co-financing to scale their ventures. Opening remarks were made by Bent Bakken, representing the Royal Norwegian Embassy, who expressed their satisfaction with the results of the programme from round 1 and the high quality entrepreneurs currently undergoing the first cohort.

Growth Accelerator’s current cohort entrepreneur Kundai Moyo, co-founder of APEX Medical Laboratories, spoke about her success through the programme, and how the Growth Accelerator Challenge propelled her business and increased her profit margins, all while creating employment opportunities for women and youth. All those in attendance of the event were engaged and interested in the opportunity of such a unique entrepreneurship challenge that combines professional training with mentorship and co-financing, inevitably resulting in the enhancement of any business that benefits from it. The audience had a chance to send in questions anonymously through an online platform called SLIDO, so that all questions on the floor were addressed and the kick-off for round 2 was as successful a turn out as it was informative.
